The Madre De Dios River in the Amazon jungle of Puerto Maldonado, Peru has become heavily polluted due to illegal gold mining on the river. Frank Ski Kids spent three days on the river, learning about the pollution and brainstorming ideas on how to help.

The Frank Ski Kids Foundation through its “2018 Planet Green: Operation Amazon-Peru” hosted an essay and oratory competition providing an opportunity for 11 inner-city youth from the City of Atlanta, GA out of 250 entrees to retrace the steps of Alexander Von Humboldt through providing them with a scientific expedition of a lifetime to the Peru Amazon Rainforest and Machu Picchu.
